What are the effects of acid rain?
Acid rain results in the increase of the levels of acidity in lakes and streams. It also contributes to damage and death of trees at high elevations. Soils are also affected by acid rain. Acid Rain also increases the rate of decay of building materials and painted surfaces. SO2 and NOx gases also make significant contributions to the reduction of visibility and they also have an effect of the health of humans.
A study of the effects of Acid Rain should cover the following areas…
* Lakes and streams, including animals living in them
* Forests
* Vehicle Paints and other surface coatings
* Materials
* Visibility
